Officer Eugene Frie was nominated as Officer of the Month for January 2011. Officer Frie made 13 arrests for 32 total charges in January. During the month, her performed 122 instances of self-initiated activity while also being responsible for handling numerous radio assignments. Officer Frie is a team player, and also an extremely reliable officer.
Police Officers work in close collaboration with the community they serve to maintain law and order, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality of life for all citizens…those words describe Officers Andrew Kleffner and Adrian Patton
Officer Kleffner and Patton, who were partners the entire year of 2010, always conducted themselves in a professional manner and are very knowledgeable of the District and the individuals who cause problems in our neighborhoods. Their work ethics set a shining example for the Officers of the 7th District. During 2010, they had 158 arrests, 216 assists with 150 felony, 55 misdemeanor and 290 ordinance charges for a total of 495 charges. During the year both Officers also received several Captains letters of Commendation.
The 7th District Community Partnership is hosting a Golf tournament for the Officers.
On December 29, 2010 Officer George Henry and
Officer Ryan Barone observed a vehicle which had just been taken in a robbery. The Officers immediately activated their emergency lights at which time the occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee and after a short pursuit the suspects exited their vehicle and began to flee on foot. The driver of the vehicle and passenger after a short foot pursuit were taken into custody and the weapon used in the robbery was recovered.
During another incident Officer Henry and Ryan observed a vehicle that was reported stolen and verified by the department dispatcher. Officers stopped the vehicle at which time the suspect was taken into custody. Once the suspect was in custody, placed in handcuffs and then placed in the rear seat of the police vehicle the Officers observed the suspect to be attempting to conceal an unknown item in the rear seat. For the Officers safety the Officers removed the suspect and located a clear plastic bag containing multiple red capsules believed to be containing heroin.
During the month of November Officer Ryan Murphy and Officer Matthew Frichtl were responsible for 8 on-view arrests with 25 charges including Robbery, VMCSL, Tampering and Probation Violation.
Notable incidents include the arrest of a subject for Tampering 1st. The suspect was operating a vehicle taken in a “carjacking” that occurred in St. Louis County and was the suspect in that Robbery. The victim/witness possitively Identifed this subject as the person who committed the Robbery.
Another incident included an on-view arrest of four subjects for Robbery 1st/ACA and two subjects fo UUW and Probation Violation. The Officers recovered the weapon used, the victims property and got a positive ID of the suspects by the victim.
