On 10/10/11, Officer Quarles heard a gun shot in close proximity to him. He then observed 2 males fighting on a parking lot and immediately responded. Upon seeing the police vehicle, one of the suspects began to run from the scene. Officer Quarles followed the suspect at which time the suspect discarded what appeared to be a gun magazine and then a weapon. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. Shortly thereafter a call was received for an attempt robbery. It was then learned the suspect taken into custody attempted to rob the victim as he walked into his place of employment. The victim fought back and was shot 2 times and struck in the head multiple times. The suspect was positively identified by the victim at the scene.
