Police Officer Norvelle Brown served in the 7th district after graduating the Police Academy in 2006. Officer Brown grew up in the neighborhood he served and was committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the children who lived there. On August 15, 2007, Officer Brown was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Officer Brown’s mother along with district residents and police officers established the Norvelle Brown Scholarship Fund. Honoring Officer Brown’s philosophy, the fund helps high school students in the district work towards their college education goals.
Scholarship funds are raising via donations and the assistance of Papa John’s Pizza. To find out how you can help a student living in the 7th district contact Police Officer Kathy Suarez 314.444.0047 or kmsuarez@slmpd.org
