Officer Burkemper receives the 2006 Officer of the Year award having been nominated Officer of Month four times in 2006. Those months were January, February, May and December. He ranks first with 80 arrest, 98 assists and 75 felony charges. Plus, he has handled 1,954 radio calls and prepared 261 reports. He is trained in weapons of mass destruction, disaster response and crisis intervention. In addition, he has handled several incidents involving mental illness successfully. A fine example within the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and a well respected Officer.

Officers Mayer and Nerviani receive the December 2006 Officers of the Month award for extreme courage and professionalism during a domestic dispute. This involved a drunken suspect looking to harm his significant other with a loaded pistol who resisted arrest. Thank you for being safe and working through a difficult situation.
Officer Rudolph receives the November 2006 Officer of the Month award for an arrest that was adopted by the Office of the U.S. Attorney. During the arrest, Officer Rudolph seized marijuana, .25 semi-automatic handgun and 8.6 grams of crack cocaine. In addition, he made 18 Felony arrests, 25 parking ticket violations, 10 traffic summonses, 6 misdemeanors and 17 city ordinances. We commend the extremely hard work.
Officer Paiva receives the October 2006 Officer of the Month award for catching a rape suspect and resolving a stand off in a safe manner. He also worked a robbery for several days which resulted in a line up identification by the victim. Warrants were served. Officer Paiva’s strong investigative skills are an asset in his daily duties as well as being a Training Officer for the the unit.
