April 2011 Officer of the Month: Officer Nicholas Manasco

Officer Nicholas Manasco has proven himself to be a valuable asset not only to the Seventh District but to the entire North Patrol Division.  On several occassions other districts have requested Officer Manasco’s help with identifying, clearing and making unusual weapons safe at the station.  Officer Manasco investigates calls in a professional safe manner which has led to arrests for drugs and weapons.  Whenever possible Officer Manasco is placed in a car with younger less experienced officers so he can teach them how to more effectively and safely police the streets of the community he serves.

March 2011 Officer of the Month: Officer Drew Happel & Officer Francis Koziacki

Officer Drew Happel & Officer Francis Koziacki showed great performance in the month of March.  They made numerous arrest, including two arrest of wanted persons for Murder 1st which greatly helped in the homicide investigations done by the Homicide Detectives.  They further made two felony arrests for VMCSL-possession and numerous misdemeanor and city charge arrests.  They totalled 11 subjects arrested in the month of March, which greatly helped in reducing the crime within the 7th Police District.

August 2010 Officer of the Month: Officer Reginald Jones

Officer Jones is respected among his peers as one of the senior Officers on the night watch.  Officer Jones is an example of teamwork, hard work, diligence, and dedication to his community and this Department.  Examples of Officer Jones’ exceptional work in his areas of self-initiated arrests are taking a Robbery suspect into custody after obtaining a description from the victim.  In another incident Officer Jones took three Burglary suspects into custody based on an anonymous tip, and another when Officer Jones observed a Burglary in progess and after a short foot pursuit took a suspect into custody.

March 2010 Officer of the Month: Officer John Stevens

During the month of March, Officer Stevens was instrumental in the recovery of two guns in two seperate incidents.  On 3-5-2010, Officer Stevens responded to assist other Officers on a call for a “Flourishing.”  Upon hearing the description, he located the subject in the area and recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun, which the subject hid in the area.

On 3-12-2010, Officer Stevens responded to a call for a “Suspicious person with drugs.”  Upon arriving, he was able to identify the subjects involved and again found a loaded handgun in the gangway, where the suspect attempted to hide it.  In both cases the guns were stolen from within the city of St. Louis.
