Police Officer Norvelle Brown served in the 7th district after graduating the Police Academy in 2006. Officer Brown grew up in the neighborhood he served and was committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the children who lived there. On August 15, 2007, Officer Brown was shot and killed in the line of duty.

WELCOME to DISTRICT 7 of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department
Dear Citizens,
The Seventh District is home to a rich and diverse community that is thriving. In January of 2010 I was honored when Chief Isom selected me to serve as the District’s Captain.
This is an exciting time for the District. The Delmar Loop is thriving and the Pageant Concert Venue has become an anchor for dozens of new businesses and even a new hotel. These attractions have made the area a popular tourist destination. Washington University’s continued expansion has also helped the area to grow.
Like most urban cities, St. Louis is working hard to impact crime. The Department continually implements new technologies like the region’s only gunshot detection system, and intelligence based programs modeled after New York City.
There are many neighborhood groups and churches in the District that sponsor community events each month. I encourage you to become active in our District and join one of these groups. Citizens are also encouraged to attend our monthly Public Affairs Meetings. It is through your involvement and cooperation that we can help our neighborhoods become even better places to raise families. Your involvement really does matter, and our officers are committed to doing everything we can to help. I look forward to meeting you.
